About the Journal

Clinical Radiology and AI is a biannual, peer-reviewed, open-access journal committed to publishing high-quality scientific research at the intersection of clinical radiology and artificial intelligence. The journal focuses on both the theoretical and practical aspects of AI applications in medical imaging, promoting interdisciplinary knowledge exchange. It publishes two issues annually, typically in May and November. The journal is dedicated to providing open access without any article processing charges (APCs), ensuring free and unrestricted access to all published content.

The journal aims to serve as a scientific bridge between radiologists, AI researchers, imaging engineers, statisticians, and clinicians. It welcomes original research articles, reviews, case studies, technical notes and letters to the editor that explore the development, evaluation, and clinical integration of AI-driven solutions in radiology.

  • Key topics covered by the journal include:
  • AI applications in clinical radiology (detection, classification, segmentation, etc.)
  • Radiomics, deep learning, and machine learning algorithms
  • Clinical decision support systems
  • AI-based workflow and reporting systems
  • Image preprocessing and data quality enhancement techniques
  • Data privacy, ethics, and transparency in AI
  • Prospective clinical trials and validation studies

Clinical Radiology and AI encourages multidisciplinary work that contributes both technically and clinically, and invites all authors to share innovative, application-focused research solutions.

Editorial Policy

The journal upholds the highest standards of research ethics and integrity, in line with international guidelines (COPE, ICMJE). All submitted manuscripts undergo a thorough peer-review process.

  •  Peer Review Process

All submissions are subject to double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts. The average time to first decision is approximately 4–6 weeks. Manuscripts are evaluated based on originality, scientific quality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Final editorial decisions rest with the Editor-in-Chief.

  •  Authorship

Only individuals who meet the ICMJE authorship criteria should be listed as authors.
All authors must have contributed significantly to the work and approved the final version of the manuscript.

  •  Conflict of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work.
A Conflict of Interest Declaration Form must be submitted along with each manuscript.

  •  Plagiarism and Research Misconduct

All submissions are checked for plagiarism using reliable software.
Manuscripts found to include plagiarism, data fabrication, image manipulation, or unethical research practices will be rejected and may result in institutional notification.

  •  Ethics Approval and Patient Consent

For studies involving human participants, ethics committee approval must be obtained and stated clearly in the manuscript.
Patient consent is required when individual patient data or identifiable images are presented.

  •  Data Availability

Authors are encouraged to share anonymized data supporting their results.
Where applicable, data availability statements should be included in the manuscript.

  •  Retraction and Correction Policy

In cases of serious errors, misconduct, or ethical concerns, the journal reserves the right to issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions, following COPE guidelines.
