About the Journal
Clinical Radiology and AI is a biannual, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality scientific research in the field of clinical radiology, with a special emphasis on artificial intelligence applications in medical imaging. The journal welcomes a broad spectrum of research — from conventional radiological studies to innovative, AI-driven solutions — aiming to foster knowledge exchange between imaging professionals and technology experts.
Published twice a year (typically in May and November), the journal operates under a fully open-access model with no article processing charges (APCs), ensuring free and unrestricted availability of all published content.
Clinical Radiology and AI serves as a scientific bridge between radiologists, AI researchers, imaging engineers, statisticians, and clinicians, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration across both traditional and emerging topics in radiology.
The journal accepts a variety of submissions, including original research articles, review papers, case studies, technical notes, and letters to the editor, across topics such as:
-
Diagnostic and interventional radiology research
-
Imaging-based disease characterization and clinical studies
-
AI applications in radiology (e.g., detection, classification, segmentation)
-
Radiomics, machine learning, and deep learning algorithms
-
Clinical decision support systems
-
Workflow optimization and automated reporting tools
-
Image preprocessing and data enhancement methods
-
Data privacy, reproducibility, and ethics in imaging AI
-
Prospective validation studies and real-world clinical trials
We encourage multidisciplinary work that makes meaningful technical and clinical contributions to the field. Researchers from all related disciplines are invited to submit their work and help shape the future of radiology and medical imaging.
Editorial Policy
The journal upholds the highest standards of research ethics and integrity, in line with international guidelines (COPE, ICMJE). All submitted manuscripts undergo a thorough peer-review process.
- Peer Review Process
All submissions are subject to double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts. The average time to first decision is approximately 4–6 weeks. Manuscripts are evaluated based on originality, scientific quality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Final editorial decisions rest with the Editor-in-Chief.
- Authorship
Only individuals who meet the ICMJE authorship criteria should be listed as authors.
All authors must have contributed significantly to the work and approved the final version of the manuscript.
- Conflict of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work.
A Conflict of Interest Declaration Form must be submitted along with each manuscript.
- Plagiarism and Research Misconduct
All submissions are checked for plagiarism using reliable software.
Manuscripts found to include plagiarism, data fabrication, image manipulation, or unethical research practices will be rejected and may result in institutional notification.
- Ethics Approval and Patient Consent
For studies involving human participants, ethics committee approval must be obtained and stated clearly in the manuscript.
Patient consent is required when individual patient data or identifiable images are presented.
- Data Availability
Authors are encouraged to share anonymized data supporting their results.
Where applicable, data availability statements should be included in the manuscript.
- Retraction and Correction Policy
In cases of serious errors, misconduct, or ethical concerns, the journal reserves the right to issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions, following COPE guidelines.
